Starfish Aquatics Institute Certified Instructors

All group lesson instructors are trained and certified through the Starfish Aquatics Institute (SAI), the industry standard in swim instruction and water safety. Lessons follow the SAI progressive curriculum across every level.

Three pathways from parent-and-toddler through competitive stroke school

Splashing Babies

Parent & Toddler · 6 months – 2 years

A gentle, play-based introduction to the water. A parent or guardian is in the water with each child, building comfort, breath control, and basic water safety habits.

Swim School

Learn-to-Swim · Ages 3+

Our core learn-to-swim program following the Starfish Aquatics Institute curriculum. Four progressive levels build water safety, floating, and the foundations of freestyle and backstroke.

Level 3: Seahorse
Level 4: Sea Turtle

Stroke School

Stroke Development · Ages 5+ (pass Swim School)

For swimmers who have completed Swim School. Four levels refine the four competitive strokes, build endurance, and introduce competitive skills — a great on-ramp to the swim team.

All swim instructors maintain active Starfish Aquatics Institute (SAI) certifications, ensuring instruction focuses on water safety, progressive skill mastery, and student engagement.

Starfish Swim School Level Progression (Ages 3+)

Level 1: Starfish Level

Water Comfort & Safety

Water adjustment, breath control, supported floats, and safe entry/exit — building comfort and trust in the water.

Level 2: Puffer Fish Level

Body Position & Air Exchange

Independent buoyancy, streamlined body positions, bobbing, and rhythmic breathing.

Level 3: Seahorse Level

Forward Movement & Direction Change

Independent kicking, basic paddle strokes, and rolling over in the water.

Level 4: Sea Turtle Level

Streamlining & Side Breathing

Coordinated arm-and-leg movements with lateral breathing mechanics and increased endurance.

Starfish Stroke School (Youth)

For swimmers who have graduated from Swim School or demonstrated equivalent water competency during a pre-lesson swim assessment. Stroke School develops the four competitive strokes — freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly — with the goal of transitioning into competitive swimming.

Late-Season Group Sessions

Each group session spans a two-week block, Monday–Thursday, for eight 30-minute lessons. Friday of each week is reserved as a make-up day for weather or mechanical closures. Registration deadlines are Fridays at 5:00 PM.
